File requirements
What we need from you
  • Print-ready PDF preferred — vector AI / EPS / SVG accepted too
  • 0.125″ bleed — on all four sides
  • 0.125″ safe zone — inside the trim for text and logos
  • 300 DPI minimum — for any raster images at final size
  • CMYK color — RGB converts automatically — we flag drift
  • Fonts outlined — or embedded so nothing substitutes at output
Common mistakes
What we flag at prepress
  • No bleed — background stops at the trim line — white slivers on the edge
  • Low-res images — under 300 DPI at print size looks pixelated
  • Live fonts, not outlined — missing fonts get substituted at output
  • RGB-only color — neon RGB tones shift when converted to CMYK

What our prepress team actually checks.

Every file goes through this review before it touches the press. Most problems are fixable; we email you with options before charging anything.

01
Bleed & trim

Is the bleed at least 0.125″ on all four sides? Are any critical elements too close to the trim line?

02
Safe zone

Text and logos need 0.125″ of clearance inside the trim so nothing gets shaved in the cut.

03
Font handling

All type outlined or embedded? Live fonts get substituted at output — we catch this before press.

04
Color space

CMYK or Pantone for printed elements. RGB files get converted but we flag color-shift risks.

05
Raster resolution

Any embedded photos or textures need 300 DPI at final size. Low-res gets flagged with a preview.

06
Transparency & overprint

Flattening surprises and unintended overprints are the classic silent killers — we preflight both.

07
Ink coverage

Total ink over ~300% can smear or slow drying. Rich blacks get rebuilt to press-safe builds.

08
File integrity

Corrupt embeds, missing links, and stray spot channels — verified before your job is queued.
