Brochure questions answered
What's the typical turnaround time?
Standard production for folded brochures is 4–5 business days plus UPS shipping. Single-page sales sheets and rack cards ship in 2–3. Rush production (next-day on most runs under 1,000 pieces) is available — submit your order by 11am ET for same-day printing.
Which fold should I choose?
Bi-fold (4 panels) suits short pitches and bistro menus. Tri-fold (6 panels) is the workhorse — service menus, takeaway, direct mail. Z-fold reads like a story. Gate-fold opens dramatically — great for real estate listings and product launches. Accordion (8+ panels) is for long-form storytelling. Roll-fold nests panels for nested reveals. Single-page sheets are perfect leave-behinds.
What paper stock do you recommend?
70lb gloss text for menus and disposable inserts. 100lb gloss or silk cover for most marketing brochures — substantial without feeling overbuilt. 80lb matte for editorial calm. 14pt premium cover for rack cards and direct mail. Recycled uncoated for nonprofits and eco brands. When in doubt, 100lb silk hits the sweet spot.
How do I set up files for folded brochures?
Provide a print-ready PDF at final flat (unfolded) size with 1/8" bleed and 300 DPI. Outside and inside spreads as separate single pages. Add 0.125" safety margin inside each fold panel — text crossing a fold line will look broken. Our preflight team will verify panel widths and fold positions before press.
What's the minimum quantity?
100 pieces for folded brochures, 50 pieces for single-page sales sheets and rack cards. There are no maximums — we routinely run 25,000+ direct-mail brochures with EDDM-compliant addressing.
Can I add foil, spot UV, or die-cut effects?
Yes — supply spot-color layers named clearly for foil ("Foil_Gold"), spot UV ("SpotUV"), or die-cut paths ("CutContour"), set to overprint. We support gold, silver, copper, and holographic foils, full-coverage or spot UV, embossing/debossing, perforation, scoring, and custom die-cut edges.
Will the color match my brand exactly?
We print 7-color CMYK + Orange + Green + Violet for the widest gamut. Provide Pantone values and we'll match to ±5% Delta-E. For mission-critical brand color, request a free press proof shipped before the full run.
